Hi, I’m Hannah! It’s nice to meet you!

Gathered Floral Co was started when my wonderful boss (Courtney at Harriett Reilly Floral Design) made the decision to close the doors to her business. Whilst we were both devastated to part ways, she gave me the incredible opportunity to take on the remaining weddings we had for 2023/24, allowing me to start up this little company!

I first started working with flowers in 2020. Working as a nurse in A&E meant that so much of my mental and physical energy was absolutely spent and, when I had days off, I found I had very little energy to get stuck into anything creative. As someone who has always been extremely creative and loved having various outlets to put all my ideas into, I absolutely hated feeling so drained and unable to do anything! So, I started creating bunches of flowers - whether utilising what I had lying around the garden or salvaging Tesco’s reduced to clear section. From this, a real love of designing and working with natural elements started to grow and needless to say, the idea of leaving nursing all behind to become a florist started to look a lot more likely! After a very, very trusting friend asked me to do the flowers for her wedding reception, I began to wonder if this was something that was actually possible.

A couple of days later, I slid into Harriett Reilly’s DM’s and the rest is history! Fast forward to now, and I have 2 years experience working with Harriett Reilly, one year as a freelancer whilst I completed my masters degree (in Global Health, because that’s clearly an essential for a florist) and then a year full time. I have done everything, starting with the basics of cleaning buckets, conditioning flowers, really learning on the job to making weddings, designing them with brides and carrying out large scale weddings with freelancers under me. The last year has given me the amazing privilege of working with some of the best florists about NI - both Floral Earth and The Wildflower! It has been a couple of crazy years and to think that I am here, doing my own thing, is nothing short of insane!

I really want Gathered Floral Co. to be something wonderful. I have a huge love for all things that are a little imperfect, allowing the beautiful ways nature works to create something incredible. Whether you want dark and moody, bright and colourful, or timeless and classy, I will always encourage that you let nature do it’s work and you keep all the weird and wonderful stems, you let the droopy flowers droop, you let a vine foliage do its lovely twirly, twisty thing. I am also a sucker for making things look pretty - like, to a fault. In some instances, this could be considered a weakness, but I think in this line of work, you can be guaranteed it means I am a perfectionist when it comes to making sure your flowers look the best!

You can be assured that when you put your trust in me, I will go above and beyond to give you the best flowers you can get. And as always, keeping things a little bit different and with a wee bit of an edge.

So, welcome to Gathered Floral Co. We are still starting out, still finding our feet but excited for all that is to come.
